On 25th September, Marriott International announced the relaunch of its co-branded credit card with Mastercard and Emirates NBD.
The credit card will come with a new black metal Marriott Bonvoy appearance as well as an offer to earn as many as 200,000 bonus points, which is only for a limited time.
The partnership, which was originally launched back in 2015, allows customers of the Emirates NBD Marriott Bonvoy World Mastercard to earn points that can be redeemed at over 7,000 Marriott International properties in 132 nations and territories.
Marriott International’s chief sales and marketing officer in the Middle East and Africa Neal Jones says that the partnership with Mastercard and Emirates NBD has always been intended to enable “good travel”.
Jones adds that the United Arab Emirates is a very important market for his company strategically.
The partnership allows members to make the most of their travel experiences with a wide range of opportunities that are available to them all over the world.
The new credit card will make travel even more enriching and rewarding and offer customers even more reasons to travel within the region, according to Jones.
The relaunched credit card offers customers access to a wide array of exclusive benefits as well as special offers on travel, accommodation and unique experiences.
Points can be transferred to over 40 different airlines.
Members can also earn up to as many as 150,000 bonus points on request.
75,000 bonus points are earned just by joining once the credit card has been activated.
Another 75,000 points can also be accumulated by spending a retail total of the equivalent of US$10,000 over the course of the first three billing statements.
This will result in access being unlocked to a number of elite lifestyle and hospitality benefits with automatic Gold Elite status.
This includes access to over 900 airport lounges all over the world as well as concierge services that include airport transfers.
The relaunch is being celebrated by a limited offer of 200,000 points, which will be available from 25th September until 30th November this year.
New cardholders can receive 100,000 points on sign-up and another 100,000 based on their overall retail spending up to $10,000 within their first three months as a customer.
Emirates NBD’s senior executive vice president and group head of retail banking and wealth management Suvo Sarkar says that the company, which leads the market in payment cards, is thrilled to relaunch the card in collaboration with Marriott Bonvoy.
Sarkar adds that the card will provide enhanced value and experiences to customers.
The card is the biggest co-branded card in the hospitality industry in the region.
Customers are offered the chance to earn great rewards centred on travel and tourism.
These are major priorities for UAE customers, according to Sarkar.
Marriott Bonvoy is the recently revealed new travel platform for Marriott International.
It offers an amazing collection of 30 international brands under just one suite of unified benefits.
