First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), formerly known as Abu Dhabi National Bank (NBAD), provides customers with an array of prepaid credit cards that are designed to help users who may be in a troublesome financial situation.
FAB is regarded as one of the world’s safest banks and is able to meet the financial needs of its customers without any worries.
Prepaid credit cards available from the bank include the Blue e-Dirham Prepaid Card, the Green e-Dirham Prepaid Card, the e-Dirham Gold Card, the Latibi Prepaid Card, the Red e-Dirham Prepaid Card and the Silver e-Dirham Prepaid Card.
Blue, green, gold, red and silver e-Dirham prepaid credit cards are issued with the cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Treasury and can be used in the majority of federal offices and ministries in the country.
Emiratis do not even need to have a FAB bank account in order to put in an application to get one of these cards.
The NBAD Ratibi Prepaid Card was launched 12 years ago back in 2008 as an innovative payroll solution designed to help companies with the quick and cost-effective payment of their employees.
The idea of the card was to give companies an alternative to having to use the standard cash payments and cheques, giving them more control over payroll processing and allowing employees to have access to point-of-sale and ATM transactions all over the world.
With this card, a bank account does not have to be opened and maintained with a minimum balance, which means that employees who actually have an annual salary of less than AED5,000 can also make use of it.
The company can initiate a monthly transfer and load the payment straight into the card for every employee.
This results in a significant reduction of the labour and cost of printing as well as the distribution of cash and cheques, particularly for those who work offsite.
Free personal accident insurance is another highlight of this card.
In order to make use of Ratibi services, employers need to have a FAB corporate account, and the cards can only be given to residents of the UAE.
Employees will also have to present complete KYC documents in order to be eligible to get a card, which FAB requires.
The balance of a card can be checked by going to PPC NBAD and entering the card number’s final two digits, followed by the ID number, which is located on the lower part of the front of the card.
Users then need to click ‘GO’ and enter the correct details, after which they will be able to gain access to the Transaction Details Screen.
This displays the account’s most recent 10 transactions, and users can also access information relating to debit and credit amounts as well as the complete balance next to every transaction.
Employees should receive training in how to make proper use of the card and the inquiry service by their employer.
